For anyone wanting to binge a new dramedy this weekend with a ton of surprises and compelling character development, look no further than Beef on Netflix. The 10-episode series stars Steven Yeun (Minari) and Ali Wong (Always Be My Maybe) as two characters leading completely opposite lives who, at the end of the day, actually have similar struggles. Their relationship begins in the first episode when a near-crash turns into an outrageous road rage incident, and we watch the two try to get back at each other while also navigating their strained careers and relationships.
From A24, Beef was created by Emmy Award nominee Lee Sung Jin, known for his work on shows like Silicon Valley, Dave, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and other popular comedies. 2023 hasn’t been that great for Netflix releases so far, save for a couple of exceptions, but Beef is a departure from your typical Netflix series. It’s getting great reviews from critics so far, and I’m not surprised. Overall, it’s an awesome watch.
If you’ve started watching Beef and want to add all the songs to your playlist, we don’t blame you! The soundtrack is great. Here’s every song featured in the series for your convenience:
