I have a hard time with fashion lately. It seems like so many of the really trendy young styles are insanely ugly, and only really beautiful women can pull them off. It’s like some extreme contrast: “look at how mortifying my faded gray skinny jeans and grandma cardigan are! Doesn’t my face look nicer in comparison?” Everyone who’s not insanely gorgeous just looks like they’ll follow the herd. Very little of it is figure flattering on most women. But I realize I sound like a grumpy old grandma, so I’m having a hard time figuring out how to address the bright orange mumu that Jessica Simpson wore to dinner with her family and Tony Romo.
Make no mistake about it, Tony Romo is still an all-star in Jessica Simpson’s world.
Despite spending a lot of time apart recently, the couple reunited Saturday night in Hollywood and it was a family affair. Tony and Jess had dinner at hotspot Beso, along with sis Ashlee and husband Pete Wentz, plus mom and dad, Tina and Joe Simpson.
Trouble in paradise with Jess & Tony? Ashlee & Pete? Sure didn’t look that way. Big smiles all around and a good time was had by all!

The mumu looks like it was ripped off the couch of “The Golden Girls” set. It’s very “circa Southern California, 1988.” I’m waiting for Estelle Getty to come out wearing the exact same thing in magenta.
Jess also looks like she’s working a bit of her infamous trout pout in some of these pictures. Years ago she admitted to getting Restalyn injections, but claimed she regretted it. She does often make this unnatural quasi-mallard expression (does she actually look in the mirror and say “Hey this makes me look hot, I’m going to do this for the ‘Out & About’ section of Us Weekly?”) which is probably what’s going on here. Why are there all these rumors of trouble between Jess and Tony? What man wouldn’t be attracted to all this?
